The Glencoe Club

As the Chef de Partie for our Banquet Kitchen you are a part of the Kitchen leadership team at The Glencoe Club. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional member and guest service experiences in our banquet and event spaces as well as supervising our McCullough’s pub and staff cook team. You will uphold a positive work culture, display motivating leadership with a team consisting of a cooks, kitchen expeditors and dishwashers. You will be passionate about the products that you are preparing and serving and be able to educate the staff and membership with menu and product knowledge. You will strive to set The Glencoe apart from other private clubs and catering facilities with exceptional food offerings.
Responsibilities:
- Review Banquet Event Orders to proactively prepare for events and plan accordingly with the Banquet team including the Front of House team to ensure successful event execution
- Collaborate with the Banquet Sous Chef and Executive Chef to have a keen knowledge of menu items
- Facilitate ongoing communication, training and development of the Banquet Team
- Maintain high levels of productivity, workplace cleanliness and a positive work environment that encourages high staff morale
- Participate in the daily Banquet, Front of House and Kitchen pre-function meetings
- Foster a positive work environment and culture that reflects The Glencoe values, mission, and vision with an emphasis on the team working as a collective
Qualifications:
- A proven track record, with minimum of 5 years in the culinary field. Banquets and Catering experience preferred
- Understanding of Banquet Event Orders
- Experience in the delivery of food and beverage excellence
- Diploma or certificate in culinary arts or relevant field an asset
- Strong leadership skills and a team player who can mentor, influence, organize, engage, and train staff effectively through cooperation, conflict resolution, and facilitation
- Innovative approach through critical thinking, collaboration, and evaluation of food and beverage services

Additional Details:
This is a full-time salaried position that reports to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays with shifts starting as early as 7am or as late as 11pm, so a flexible schedule is required.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check and Respect in the Workplace online certification before starting employment.
