Café 29 Cashier

We are seeking a Part- Time Cashier to join our Café 29 Team. As a Café 29 Cashier you will be responsible for ensuring exceptional member service experience by providing prompt, efficient and friendly service to our members and guests, while striving for consistency. You will showcase passion in the products that you are serving and be able to educate the membership with menu and product knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Welcoming members and guests, informing them about specials or new items, answering their questions, helping them locate items, and providing advice or recommendations
• Preparing a variety of baked goods and beverages such as smoothies and specialty coffees
• Operating the cash register and Point of Sales (POS) system
• Clearing and cleaning tables and stocking items
• Attend Café 29 meetings and training sessions
• Ensure compliance with all Glencoe Health and Safety standards and the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months- 1 year of previous experience with customer service, food & beverage preparation in a fast-paced environment
• Minimum 6 months- 1 year of previous experience and an understanding of POS systems
• Excellent organizational, communication and service skills
• Understanding of food handling health standards
• Must be comfortable with the duties of the position for the duration of the shift and lift heavy supplies up to 20 lbs

Additional Details:

This is a Part-Time position that report to the Café 29 Supervisor. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as a Respect in the Workplace online certification prior to commencing employment.
