We are seeking a Full Time Licensed Program Educator whose position is part of the Front-Line Team of the Club, and oversees delivery of both the Licensed Enhanced Preschool Program and Licensed Out of School Care Program at the Glencoe Club. The Licensed Program Educator will provide a safe, caring, stimulating, active and educational experience for children and their families utilizing the superior sport venues and facilities within the Club. A key part of this role is the development of the program plan; and implementation and evaluation of a high quality educational program for children aged 5 to 9 years old.



  • Responsible for the co-planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a wide range of activities and provocations for children utilizing individual and group interests in the program room, with-in The Club and in the community with a focus on school readiness and physical literacy.
  • Ensure a focus on fun, stimulating, and safe experiences for all children by supervising children in designated areas using all available resources and areas of the Club.
  • Ensure the personal delivery of high quality programs and services.
  • Effectively address members concerns and complaints immediately if possible, and take to Team Lead/Director when needed.
  • Actively contribute to department teamwork, relationship building, and collaboration
  • Collaborate with co-workers to provide exceptional service and consistent routines.


  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education, with a preference to Level 3 ECE
  • Current certification in First Aid/CPR “C”/AED. Childcare First Aid/CPR is an asset
  • A minimum of two years’ experience working in a Licensed Child Care, or Out of School Care Program
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement AB Flight Curriculum combined with traditional program planning and adjust planning to enhance the children’s interests and unique learning experiences
  • Knowledge of child development and skilled in the implementation of positive, proactive behavior guidance and management strategies
  • Ability to walk 3km daily for Out of School Care pick-ups at the nearby school and participate in physical activities that include creative movement, yoga, pool play and swimming lessons, racquet sports, bowling, and outside excursions
  • Ensures adherence to specific area operating policies, programs and/or procedures, which shall be consistent with the Club’s general policies and understand all aspects of Alberta Childcare Licensing Acts and Regulations, Alberta Heath Regulations and City of Calgary Fire Codes

Additional Details:

This is a full time position that reports to the Licensed Program Team Lead and Childcare Director. The successful candidate will be required to work through the months of September to June, Monday to Thursday 10:30am – 6:00pm and Fridays 10:00am-3:00pm with longer shifts required on PD days. During the months of July and August flexibility is offered to work in Childcare, Youth & Teen Programs, or take July and August off as an unpaid summer break.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check including a vulnerable sector check or have a current clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check dated within 6 months. Completion of Respect in the Workplace and Respect in Sport online certifications prior to commencing employment.
