Master Swim Coach

We are seeking a Part-Time Master Swim Coach to join our Aquatics Team, providing and leading engaging practices and sessions that accommodate a wide range of abilities from recreation to competitive Masters swimmers. You will provide coaching and leadership for a vital swim club program, guiding swimmers to meet their personal goals while offering individualized stroke correction and feedback. You’ll create an environment that is challenging and motivating for both competitive and recreational adult swimmers to truly get the most out of their experience at the Glencoe and contribute to their ongoing development
Responsibilities:
- Direct coaching and leadership to swimmers in the Masters Swim Club programs of The Glencoe Club.
- Plan and deliver high quality engaging practices that accommodate a wide range of member needs and evolving trends
- Effectively address members and staff concerns and complaints before and/or after practice
- Act as the primary point of contact and communicator for the Master Swim Program
- Collaborate with the Gators Director to align the program’s objectives with the Club’s overall strategy, and identify suitable Masters competitions that support development of our members
- Support swimmers pursuing competition: stroke correction, technical feedback, race strategy and individualized guidance.
- Demonstrate punctuality and preparedness for all warm ups, meetings and coaching sessions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience coaching at a competitive swim club, with a strong background coaching adult swimmers
- Minimum of NCCP 101 (201 would be considered an asset)
- Valid First Aid and CPC-C Certification is required
- Excellent communication, member service, interpersonal and public speaking skills
- A diplomatic personality able to foster relationships with members and employees
- Strong leadership skills
- A team player who can be part of a team and execute exceptional service
- Extensive knowledge of stroke technique, training principles, and competition preparation
- Ability to work irregular hours, and occasional weekends
- Ability to stand on a pool deck for extended periods of time

Additional Details:
This is a flexible Part Time position offering up to 10 hours a week, reporting to the Aquatics Director. The successful applicants must be available to work a variety of early morning (6:30 am), daytime weekday and weekend shifts.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check including a Vulnerable Sector Check as well as Respect in the Workplace and Respect in Sport online certifications prior to commencing employment.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The Club does not provide assistance with obtaining Canadian work authorization
