We are seeking a Full Time Painter/Refurbisher to join The Glencoe Club. As a Painter/Refurbisher, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the building’s aesthetic charm, ensuring every corner of the Club reflects top-notch care and attention. Your expertise will ensure that all finishes throughout the building remain pristine, elevating the overall ambiance. You will deliver exceptional service, making certain that every building component is in perfect working order and that the Club’s environment is not only visually appealing but also inviting and enjoyable. Through your dedication, you’ll create a clean, safe, and vibrant atmosphere, elevating the overall experience for all who visit.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and restore ceilings, walls, wood, and flooring
- Keep an up-to-date list of painting specifications and paint codes to ensure consistency and efficiency
- Organize and manage stock of wall coverings, flooring, and other materials with precision
- Ensure upholstered surfaces remain clean, well-maintained, and inviting
- Collaborate with fellow Operators on various tasks, contributing to seamless team operations
- Take on additional general maintenance duties as needed
- Ensure clear, effective communication (verbal and written) with members, staff, and supervisors, promptly addressing concerns and ensuring safety standards compliance with Glencoe Health and Safety standards and the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of painting experience, with Journeyman’s Painter certification preferred
- Proficient in staining, varnishing, drywalling, caulking, and wall vinyl installation
- Skilled in handyman tasks and carpentry work
- Ability to read and interpret building drawings accurately
- Strong communication, writing, and public speaking skills
- Diplomatic and outgoing personality with the ability to build relationships with members and employees
- Team player committed to exceptional service, with high ethical standards and excellent interpersonal skills

Additional Details:
This is a Full Time position that reports to the Facilities Manager. The successful applicant must have flexible availability. Hours are primarily Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, totaling approximately 40 hours per week. Exceptions to this schedule are for occasional night work and on-call rotation.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check including a Vulnerable Sector Check as well as Respect in the Workplace and Respect in Sport online certifications prior to commencing employment.
