We are seeking a Full-Time Pastry & Bakery Cook to join our Kitchen Team. As a Baker, you will work in a fast-paced and innovative culinary environment for our members and guests, creating exceptional experiences with every baked item. Responsibilities: 

  • Produce delectable fresh baked breads, muffins, cookies, sweet loaves, laminated doughs and other feature baked items in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef  
  • Assist with execution, organization and preparation of menu items for service as per Banquet Event Orders and other requests, ensuring items meet the expected department standards and that support is provided to colleagues in ensuring that they have the resources and assistance to complete their tasks efficiently 
  • Assist with preparation of a la cart desserts production and plating for the Glencoe’s restaurants 
  • Maintain high food quality, preparation and work area standards that meet Health and Safety and Alberta Health Services standards by ensuring that department training is utilized, opportunities for improvement are addressed and that menu changes have accurate specifications reflected in the kitchen resource materials  
  • Uphold a positive and professional environment with coworkers, members and guests 

Qualifications: 

  • A proven track record, with minimum of 1 year experience in the Pastry/Bakery industry   
  • A team player who can execute exceptional service with professional interpersonal communication and organizational skills  
  • Enthusiasm and a positive attitude with high standards of ethics, honesty and integrity 
  • Must be comfortable standing or walking during the length of shift and be able to repetitively lift supplies weighing up to 50lbs  
  • Food Safe Certification and other required certifications

Additional Details: 

This is a full time position that reports to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, weekends, weekdays, evenings and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.
