The Glencoe Club is seeking a Full-Time Tennis Professional to support the delivery and continued growth of our tennis program. Reporting to the Tennis Director, this role is responsible for delivering exceptional tennis instruction, supporting program development, fostering strong member relationships, and contributing to a welcoming club environment that feels like a second home for members, guests, and employees. The successful candidate will combine strong coaching expertise with excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and a commitment to creating engaging tennis experiences for players of varying ages, abilities, and competitive levels.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality tennis programming, including clinics, leagues, camps, tournaments, and social events that enhance member participation and experience
  • Support the development and growth of the Club’s tennis program by identifying opportunities to expand participation and stay current with industry trends
  • Provide personalized, hands-on coaching and instruction to a wide range of players, while contributing to long-term player development initiatives
  • Assist the Tennis Director in mentoring part-time coaches and supporting appropriate staffing levels and coach to player ratios
  • Build strong relationships with members through proactive communication, professional service, and timely resolution of concerns or complaints
  • Oversee administrative responsibilities related to court bookings, program registration, billing, tournaments, and general departmental communication using Club systems and software
  • Maintain safe, clean, and well-presented tennis spaces while ensuring compliance with Club standards, health and safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Provide consistent, outstanding, service to the members, guests, and co-worker by ensuring proactive communication, strong attention to detail, and fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere

Qualifications:

  • Certified Tennis Professional through Tennis Canada, with a minimum certification of Club Pro 2+ or Coach 2+
  • A minimum of 5 years coaching experience working with a range of age groups, skill levels, and player demographics
  • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver structured tennis programs and long-term player development plans that support players of all ages and abilities, with a tailored approach to differing skill levels and learning needs
  • Experience organizing tournaments and administering tennis programming, registrations, and bookings
  • Experience competing in ITF, Futures, Challenge or Professional Events is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust with members, create a welcoming and inclusive environment, tailor interactions to a wide range of ages and abilities, and resolve concerns in a manner that strengthens the overall member experience
  • Basic Rescuer CPR and First Aid Certification, with a demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and wellness standards
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, diplomacy, and teamwork; high-level competitive playing experience (National or Collegiate player) is considered an asset

Additional Details:

This is a Full Time salaried + commissions position that reports to the Tennis Director. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.

The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check including a vulnerable sector check, Respect in the Workplace and Respect in Sport online certifications prior to commencing employment.
