We are seeking a Full-Time Pastry Cook to join our Kitchen Team. The successful candidate will bring previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment and enjoy working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. As a Pastry Cook, you will assist with daily pastry and bakery production for member dining, banquets and club events. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a strong attention to detail and is comfortable producing consistent, high-quality baked goods and desserts in a busy kitchen environment. Responsibilities:
- Produce delectable fresh baked breads, muffins, cookies, sweet loaves, laminated doughs and other feature baked items in conjunction with the Executive Chef and Pastry Chef
- Assist with daily pastry and bakery production while following recipes, presentation standards and department expectations
- Support preparation and plating of à la carte desserts as well as pastry production for banquets, events and member dining service
- Assist with organization and preparation of menu items for Banquet Event Orders and other kitchen requests
- Maintain a clean, organized and efficient workstation while supporting overall kitchen operations and team success
- Ensure food quality, food safety and sanitation standards are consistently maintained in accordance with Alberta Health Services requirements
- Contribute to a positive, professional and team-oriented work environment with coworkers, members and guests
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years of pastry and/or bakery experience in a professional kitchen environment such as a hotel, restaurant, golf club, resort, or banquet operation
- Experience with from scratch baking, laminated doughs, dessert preparation and production baking in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a kitchen team
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Must be comfortable standing or walking during the length of shift and be able to repetitively lift supplies weighing up to 50lbs
- Food Safe Certification

Additional Details:
This is a full time position that reports to the Executive Chef. The successful candidate will be required to work in the early morning (shifts starting between 2-4 am) and may need to work a variety of other shifts including weekends, weekdays, evenings and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.
The successful applicant will be required to complete a background check as well as Respect in the Workplace online certifications prior to commencing employment.
