Banquet Supervisor

We are seeking a Full Time Banquet Supervisor. The Banquet Supervisor is part of the Food & Beverage Supervisory Team of the Club, and oversees the Banquets department of the Glencoe Club. As the Banquet Supervisor you will develop and monitor a team and staff focused on delivering a high level of service that meets or exceeds member expectations. In this role, you’re bringing planned events to life with your amazing team and leaving the planning up to the Event Coordinators. You will deliver exceptional experiences in all that you do and will constantly aspire to create a second home environment for our members, guests and employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example continually providing extraordinary service to members and their guests during events and banquets
  • Meet with Event Coordinators, Kitchen and F&B team regarding review of function sheet and event details
  • Ensure rooms are properly set including cleanliness, state of repair, decoration, room temperature, audio visual requirements and that staff responsible for the event are aware of all food beverage and service requirements prior to the event. Constant communication with Kitchen throughout event regarding timing, numbers, menu and feedback
  • Give/receive feedback with staff, as a group, following each function and overall
  • Provide comprehensive training programs for new employees and existing staff
  • Schedule appropriate staff for all functions balancing cost with service. Hiring of banquet staff
  • Attend weekly Food & Beverage meetings and monthly Club Supervisor meetings
  • Depending on business levels this position may act as a Team Lead in Argyle (restaurant)

Qualifications:

  • A proven track record in event management, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity at a private club, food and beverage establishment or event company
  • A passion for events of all kinds! Experience in the delivery of food and beverage banquet excellence within a fast paced environment
  • A diplomatic personality and enhanced communication skills, able to foster relationships with members, committees and employees
  • Strong leadership skills focused on inspiring employees to provide their best, be organized and deliver exceptional experiences
  • Ability to influence progress through cooperation, conflict resolution, and facilitation
  • Proven ability to enhance team performance, through mentorship, effective organization and training
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills with confidence to create and implement new processes and systems to elevate events

Additional Details:

This is a Full Time position that reports to the Food & Beverage Manager. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.
